Media ethics/ law

The one I looked at included libel and the 1st amendment. This article just went on talking about how they want to change the libel laws and that it could infringe the first amendment and also that because of the law reporters might not want to touch some of the stories that come out.

In this the propaganda that is shown is as nauseam and beautiful people. It does so because this ad repeatedly has Lebron say, "What should I do." It is repeated many times. Beautiful people because they use well known Lebron James to sell Nike products.

• Crewster. It is a is a social networking website that offers working members of the film industry a place to connect with each other for the purpose of finding employment. Users give each other recommendations based on their previous positive work experiences. The site is free to use, but many features require registration.
• The social networking site that has helped me out is facebook. It helped me out when I forgot a homework assignment. I was able to talk to a friend and have them give me the homework that way.

Movies

My favorite movie from 2009 would have to be The Blind Side. I like this movie so much because of the story. It showed a kid who really came from nothing and he was given a chance to get out of it and he did. My favorite movie of all time is Friday Night Lights. This is a great movie, and i can watch it whenever. I love how in the end they lose and it breaks away from the "hollywood" endings. I saw both of these movies in movies and at home.

Magazines

Proposal: LFL (Lingerie Football league)

Concept: This idea is different from other magazines because it is one of its own and there is no magazine covering this sport. This magazine would be like a maxim and a football magazine together. There would be pictures in lingerie and articles about the games that the girls play in.

Readers: The readers would be men usually around the age of sixteen to the age of thirty. So the young male, who is interested in sports and the opposite sex.

Five advertisers would have to be car dealers, insurance companies, food companies, the National Football League, clothing companies, and watch companies.

Five articles that would be in the premier issue would be one a article introducing the game to everyone and describing what to look for, an article on a big game, a article on a certain girl and photos on her, an article that is just B.S. and funny thats sole purpose is for laughs, and then an article looking forward to the next weeks games.

The cover of the magazine would have either a team of the league or a girl of the league on the cover. It will be very colorful. It also will include the topics that are talked about in the magazine on the cover. 

Books

Three books that have had the most influence in my life would have to be Green Eggs and Ham, Captain Underpants, and The Bible. Green Eggs and ham is one of the most influential books in my life because it was the first book I ever read all the way through with no mistakes. So it will always be in my memory. Captain Underpants is another influential book for me because I never was fond of reading, but i loved reading Captain Underpants, so it really helped me ready more so thats why it stays with me. The last book is The Bible. This is the most influential book out of all for me. it is the basis of my religon and has helped me change my life around. I wasn't going down the right path and I got into trouble and it really changed my life around drastically and you can find it right next to my bed. Since it hass drastically changed my life I dont plan on ever leaving it behind.

media impact

I believe a good research project for looking into how big the medias impact is on us, would be to see if kids who watch violent programs growing up, do they tend to live more violent lives, or is it just in the person to be violent. The methodology that I would use, would most likely be the social learning theory. I would test my hypothesis by having a big group of children and have some watch only violent programs, another group who watches no violent programs and then a group who watches both. This would show me if people do become more violent due to the media. I think that my results would show that it makes  little to no difference, and that it come more from how the parents act then things they watch.

#1 Media Autobiography

In this blog i am going to talk about my relationship with mass media including, books, newspapers, magazines, movies, radio, television, and the internet. Also what career I would like in the media.

Looking at my relationships with the eight types of mass media, I would have to say my relationship is poor. The first three types of mass media given, are books, newspaper, and magazines, These three are the reason i believe my relationship to mass media is poor. I say this because I am very active and do not like sitting around reading because  my mind wanders too much for me to pay attention to what i am reading. I like them because they have so much information that i like to get, but I just cant force myself to keep reading. For example, i never read books anymore unless i am forced to read them. News papers on the other hand, i like looking in to them and I usually take the sports out and i only look at the stats and scores of games. For magazines, I never read them either. I skim through them, but i never read the article because i feel that most the stuff in them are a waste of my time.

The last five are much more enjoyable for me, these five include; movies, radio, recordings, television, and the internet.I am always using one of these. For movies, I am always watching movies. Ill rent them, watch them when they come on the television.  Really when ever i get a chance, I will watch movies. The only down fall is that they really dont teach you anything, unless it is a documentary. Then the radio, I love listening to it in the car. I never drive without it. My only problem with it would have to be the commercials and talk shows. I love recordings, they are songs that i just want to listen to, it plays when i want it to, so i have no problem with them at all. As for television goes, I love it as well. I love how there are so many options on what you want to watch. You can watch channels that are informative, and when you want to relex, you can jsut put something simple on which is huge for me. I jsut dont like commercials that are aon unless the are funny ones. Then the internet, I think is one of the best inventions, and I love the the goverment has no control over what we put up there. I love the fact that we can put up anything we want. Also anyhting we belive in, we can say is true and make people believe it. With that said I am always on it and wouldn't know what to do with out it. 

Looking at careers in the media, I would love to be a sports analysis, or sports reporter. I love sports so it would be great to keep close to them.
